I even saw one tut where the guy says, when you are done with fitting, close the project and reload the character. I believe i found one of the things that was causing issues - apparently, if you use the fitting room, it should be it's own project - somehow every time I've played with fitting room tools, and jumping into setup page - i'd cause troubles. Thank You, yeah, i have the latest version - but was good to double check online version to double check the update link in poser was correct. unfortunately it's not this easy to import to iclone as the body doesn't come attached like that into iclone with the conform option, still figuring out how to do that part. Mark, here's lightwave plug in I was talking about. So far I don't regret the purchase because I was able to create some nice renders fast, and it has really unique tools for rigging and dressing up your character, the cloth physics and hair module are pretty nice too.the learning process and the random crashes make me want to kick kittens though - but that will soon pass. Poser also seems to do what every other 3D software does, a suck button, which is use their own system and terminology - so common sense doesn't apply, and sorting through silent tutorials and tutorials made by people that think they are bon jovi and need effects in them is a bit annoying.well ok, more than a bit.but so far i haven't picked up a hammer. so far, you can't just drop an outfit and export it. and the bones are exporting - I'm experiencing noob problems in having to address the weightmaps to work in iclone. and it's pretty cool technology, it also introduced pixar subdivision - more cool technology that lightwave users are wondering why they don't have it. I can't say if it is or isn't different because this is my first time with poser - ever.- but i can say the fitting room is new. what i mostly see in the legacy versions is people exporting obj and rigging them. So while I can't answer anything about the old versions - I can say there are many little clues that it was a hot mess - further I would think with all the poser users, we'd have a ton of those characters floating around with their poser rigs. and people complaining that the new characters are not compatible with the old poser. In fact, I'm going through a little adventure trying to find the right export settings for various native poser characters - they even have specific - traditional / legacy settings in 2014 with a choice of 4 skinning methods. for a long time poser was taboo because I kept hearing that their rigs and weight maps were incompatible with other systems. Sorry I announced this at the last minute of the sale, but i decided at the last minute to get it, the steep discount made me take the risk lol They have tweaked specifically 2014 pro with gamers in mind, unlikely to work the same with any of the other versions, including the most recent poser 10 - as they don't have collada export. With 2014 pro, they also introduced plug ins for c4d, max, maya and lightwave. No on the fbx export- they export collada, but the autodesk converter does a good job of converting it. Ya, the problem in past version was their weight mapping, they changed it in 2014 to be pixel weight mapping - making it more compatible with other programs.
